Concert Report: Tchaikovsky Spectacular With Fireworks

Tchaikovsky Spectacular w/ Fireworks is the concert I’ll be covering. The location was Hollywood Bowl, 2201 N Highland Ave. Los Angeles CA, 90068. It was held on Friday, August 9th, 2018, at 8 p.m. in the evening. Everyone had to be settled before the main event and find their seats. The orchestral event was performed at the Hollywood Bowl. This is part two of the weekend’s weekend spectaculars. It is strictly prohibited to consume alcohol or smoke, and it is also against the law to use weapons or break glass. The event allowed for photography. However, other attendees may not be able to see the event through the use of cameras-stands or drones.

These were the samples that were included in the program:

TCHAIKOVSKY – Polonaise and Waltz of Eugene Onegin

Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky’s Swan Lake, Act IV, is a ballet about a princess who is turned into a swan by an evil sorcerer’s curse. The prince, who is in love with her, must break the curse in order to save her.

TCHAIKOVSKY: Capriccio Italien, Op. 45

TCHAIKOVSKY: 1812, Overture, Op. 49.

Los Angeles Philharmonic’s Bramwell Tovey was the conductor. The USC Trojan Marching Band was one of the musicians that played in the orchestra. People love the spectacle of the 1812 Overture fireworks and they are very popular. Nearly 70 musicians came to the concert from brass, woodwind, and the percussion family, which also includes the double bass. The stage was well-arranged with plenty of space for musicians to move around. The opposite corner of stage housed drums. Woodblocks, cymbals, and harps. It made it possible to feel a connection with the mind of someone seated in the opposite corner of the hall.

The lights illuminated the room with a rainbow of colors. Each color rotated and followed a specific pattern that was controlled at the switchboard. The conductor was facing the audience and the pit was a stage that was lower than the hall. The pit was viewed from above by a video monitor, which showed the conductor’s movements. All the performers then followed the video closely to make sure they understood the messages.

One rare sight was the individual musician who sat alone at the far-right corner with several instruments. He played all the instruments simultaneously using his hands, legs and the stick that was stuck in his mouth. It gave the audience a unique experience. It was a mixture of many styles. Live staging was great because the tempos varied from slow to fast. It was very precise to switch between the keys. You could hear the drumming and tones rise and fall from the stage. The three-piece black suit was worn by the pit members. White shirts were also worn. Every member had to adhere to this dress code. Only a few male performers wore costumes specific to their roles. They sat on black seats, but their instruments were different colors, ranging from black to brown to black.

Music culture includes color matching and dress code. This is a sign of organization and discipline in all types of music. Composers of classical music combine ideas, instruments and vocal characteristics to create new genres and styles. Homophony refers to a technique where a distinct melody and subordinate chordal arrangement are used. It is important to pay attention to the musical compositions of the instruments. It’s not enough to sing vocals, but you must also use the sound of your instruments to create a specific music genre. Sonatas in classical form are unique because they involve live performances and public concerts. This has helped to make sonata more popular and distinctive. The most striking thing about the performance was the lady who was at the front of the group and only played one part of the instruments. The trumpet she had was played for twenty minutes by the lady member of the group. The entire experience was beautiful from her dressing code to how she juggled different keys during playing. The audience gave her a standing ovation and clapped with joy. It was amazing to see a woman play the trumpet as beautifully as she did. The whole set-up and performance were exceptional.

The concert featured musicians that engaged the audience in a conversation and who interpreted the Tchaikovsky music with great dramatism and classical polish. You were captivated by the Nutcracker’s excerpts and Swan Lake’s theatrical interpretation of the 1812 Overture. It was spectacular. The orchestral performance, rhythm and the brilliant fireworks display were all outstanding. The memories of those who were there will last a lifetime. It was wonderful, organized and well-organized. I enjoyed it immensely and will definitely be attending the other classical concerts at Hollywood bowl to witness the masterworks being played by professional musicians.

Conclusion: I believe that attending these events will help you gain knowledge about the history and industry of music. This knowledge can be useful in many ways, including sharing your passion for music with your family and teaching them how to listen to great music. Music is part and parcel of our lives. It’s a joy to watch it live.
