A Reflection Of My Experience Of Riding The Tower Of Terror In Disney Land

The fear I felt the first ride on The Tower of Terror is what stands out to me the most. Disney Land makes me happy. There are many fun rollercoasters and rides to enjoy. My fourth trip to Disney Land. My sister has always talked about how much she enjoyed the Tower of Terror. It was my first time riding it, as I had not been brave enough or tall enough to ride before. The Tower of Terror was a thrill I wanted to experience at the age of eight.

The ride was designed to resemble an abandoned, old hotel. The interior of this building is creepy. It has peeling wallpaper, cobwebs, and a lot of dust. It was so musty that it was disturbing. The staff was making elevator jokes, ushering and directing us through the hotel. The employees wore white gloves and old-fashioned bellhop outfits. The makeup that the employees wore made them appear dead and cold. The employees were slow in everything they said and did, which made me nervous. We walk into a small, dark room and watch a video on the Twilight zone. When the video finishes we continue to climb the stairs up to the boiler. It is in the boiler room that you will smell the most musty. There are three old elevators at the top, and people are lining up to get into them. Right above is an old indicator which shows the floor of those on the ride. You can hear their screams as well. While waiting for my dad and sister to get on the ride, my older sister kept talking to us about how it drops you and then picks you back up. It takes you all the way to the top, where you have a view of the entire park in pitch-black. I was not excited at this point and wanted to skip the ride. The people before us were looking ecstatic and disheveled as they exited the ride. This made me both excited and scared to ride the ride.

We were finally let in the elevator and buckled up. This creepy introduction video is played about the fact that we’re in the exact same elevator as people who have died. They drop us next but not very far. Next thing I know we are being dropped repeatedly. I began to scream loudly. Next thing you know we are going straight upwards for a few seconds, then dropping. I thought that we had stopped screaming, but no, the elevator took us back up to the top, and then dropped us again. The voice tells us not to go in the elevator again. I felt invincible when I survived The Tower of Terror.

Conclusion: Nothing should stop you from having a good time. It is only once in a lifetime; I learned that I will always face fears, but that I can overcome these. Now I will do my best to overcome all my fears. I learned that love is also a four-letter term, just like fear. It made me stronger. They always tell me I’m capable of anything I set out to do. The Tower of Terror was a great ride. Remember that fear can’t rule your life.
